Our Committee

Greenhills Preschool is managed by Early Childhood Management Services (ECMS) together with a volunteer, parent-based committee. Joining our kinder committee is a positive way for parents and caregivers to play an active part in the life of the Greenhills Preschool community and help the preschool flourish. It is also an opportunity to make new friends, learn new skills, have a say in kindergarten matters and have fun. You don’t require previous experience to be on the Committee- we are just looking for parents and caregivers who have enthusiasm!

Details of current roles within our committee:

PRESIDENT

  • Chair committee meetings
  • Cheque Signatory (Fundraising Money Only)
  • Follow up on outstanding business from committee meetings
  • Staff contact
  • Liaise with ECMS
  • 2nd emergency contact for Greenhills Emergency SMS system

VICE PRESIDENT

  • Support the President in their duties including chairing committee meetings in President’s absence
  • Take meeting minutes in Secretary’s absence

TREASURER

  • Authorise payment of Pre School accounts
  • Cheque Signatory
  • Collect monies from kinder/Banking and pass on documentation to ECMS contracted book-keeper
  • Collate monthly financial report for presentation to committee (ECMS contracted bookkeeper will forward on to head educator)

SECRETARY

  • Record & distribute committee meeting minutes
  • Collate agenda items and distribute agenda items for monthly committee meeting
  • Email meeting reminders
  • Communication between staff and community – sending out emails and Newsletter
  • 1st Emergency contact for Greenhills Emergency SMS system.

FUNDRAISING CO-ORDINATOR x 4 

  • To raise funds for Greenhills Preschool
  • Tasks can be shared between members
  • Assistance from both committee and non-committee members (as required)

I.T PERSON (Including website and Newsletter)

  • Collate monthly newsletter
  • Update website where necessary

GRANTS

  • This person is responsible for applying for any small grants associated with the kinder. ECMS will be responsible for applying for the larger grants.

GENERAL COMMITTEE MEMBERS

  • Required to attend monthly meetings on a regular basis
  • Be involved in and take responsibility for decision making on behalf of the overall kinder community at Committee level.
  • Be enthusiastic and volunteer your time for the various activities that Committees undertake

MAINTENANCE OFFICER (Non Committee)

  • Organise 2-4 working bees
  • Liaise with council or tradespeople regarding any maintenance issues
  • Report back to committee regarding any issues

SOCIAL CO-ORDINATOR – (Non-committee)

1 x3 year old group and 1×4 year old groups

  • Arrange social gatherings for parents and/or children outside of kinder ideally once a term (example coffee, playground etc.)
  • Be the contact point for your group back to the staff or committee
  • This role will also assist the Fundraising team if required.
